Onyx Vital · mineral postfiltration

Composition, with intention.

After separation comes a new design question: what should the water contain? Mineral postfilters make that question measurable.

Why add minerals after filtration?

Reverse osmosis can reduce dissolved minerals along with unwanted substances. A mineral postfilter introduces a selected material into the treated-water path. Depending on the material and contact conditions, some of its components can dissolve into the water.

The aim is a defined composition. Calcium, magnesium, potassium and silica appear in the Onyx development concept; the actual contribution of each must come from outlet analysis. A mineral listed inside a cartridge does not tell you the amount in a glass.

Bone is living tissue.

Bone continually remodels: existing tissue is broken down and new tissue is formed. Calcium is part of its mineral structure, while vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium. Nutrition, physical activity, age and hormonal changes all matter.

Osteoporosis involves loss of bone strength and increased fracture risk. Its prevention and treatment require a broader approach than a single drink. Onyx’s mineral development objective is to explore a measured contribution to mineral intake—not to present a cartridge as an osteoporosis treatment.

Can calcium in water be absorbed?

From milligrams per liter to daily intake.

Multiply concentration by the volume consumed. This simple calculation helps distinguish a meaningful measured contribution from the mere presence of a mineral. Change the example below to explore the relationship.

75 mg

Calcium supplied by that volume of water. The rest of the diet remains part of the total.

Design for consistency over time.

Mineral release can change with flow, temperature, incoming chemistry and cartridge age. Testing should include the first liters, routine operation and the end of the intended service life. A complete assessment also considers material purity and unwanted releases.

The useful outcome is a composition range tied to operating conditions and a replacement procedure. “Natural,” “marine” or “volcanic” describes an origin; none of those words alone establishes purity, dose or a benefit to bone.
